Hello and Welcome to Next Island! I'm Jo the Hunting Instructor. Here on Next Island and everywhere else in Entropia you wil need to know how to hunt and shoot. At least to defend yourself. Ready to get started?

Options
-Yes
-No

After 'Yes'

Great!

To start, once you've equipped your weapon, simple press 'F' to shoot at the nearest target. It will take a few shots with the starter gun I'm going to give you. You can change key bindings if you press 'O' for options, to adjust it to the way you like it.

option

-Go on...

To equip the weapon, open your inventory with the 'I' button on your keyboard.

Go to the Weapons section, then find the Elysia Prototype weapon I'm going to give you. Weapons require ammunition to fire, and different weapons require higher levels of skill. This one should work just fine for you though.

Ok I'm going to give you your first Weapon now, but first, go see Li the Healing Instructor. He'll give you some more info to help you get started. Those little guys have a nasty bite and you need to know how to heal yourself! He will give you some herbs that can restore your health.

Ok, head towards the waypoint behind the Tailors house and kill three Papoos. Then come back to me. Be sure to loot your prey and collect your rewards! Just aim your sights on the fallen Papoo and right click to collect the spoils of your labor. This does debpend on your personal settings though, but usuing 'F' also loots the target if it's the closest one.

Options

-Hand over the goods. I've got this.
-I'll go see the healer now.

Objective

Hunt 3 Papoo's

Fantastic! You have learned how to shoot. Remember to always watch your ammo!

Different weapons use different ammunition, but they all use 'Universal Ammunition'. So if you loot any 'Shrapnel' when hunting, be sure to open your inventory, right click on the shrapnel, and select 'Convert to Ammo'. That should help keep you going for a bit.

Option

-I will.

At the house to my left you will find the Mining Instructor. He'll teach you how to mine for valuables you can use to make items for yourself or sell to others.

Universal Ammo can be used to mining as well as hunting, just so you know!

Option

-Sounds good.
